Great for pairing with our Classic Meatballs!
1 shallot finely minced
3 cloves garlic minced
4 tbsp tomato paste
1/3 cup dry white wine
15-ounce cans tomato sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried garlic powder
1 tsp dried onion powder
Pinch of sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Coat the bottom of a large heavy bottom pan with olive oil, bring to medium heat.
Add shallot and garlic, stir and let cook for 2 min.
Stir in tomato paste and then allow to cook for 3 min without disturbing.
Deglaze pan with the white wine and cook for an additional 5 min.
Then add tomato sauce and spices, cover and cook for 15-20 min stirring occasionally.
Add pinch of sugar, then salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately or store in fridge for 4-5 days.
